The AACR Workshop on Integrative Molecular Epidemiology: Bridging Cancer Biology and Precision Medicine is a five-day workshop designed by Course Directors Drs. Thomas Sellers, Lorelei Mucci, and Peter Kraft along with top faculty to accelerate the training of the next generation of cancer researchers in the integration of biology and epidemiology. The AACR is pleased to offer it again this year. This year’s workshop will take place July 15-19, 2019 at the Westin Copley Place Hotel in Boston, Massachusetts. The workshop is primarily targeted toward molecular epidemiologists, but the materials are appropriate for geneticists, statisticians, bioinformaticians, molecular biologists, physician scientists, and others who have completed basic course work in epidemiology. We have assembled an expert team of faculty to teach this workshop in a collaborative and interactive format.

Premium times Nigeria article describing ongoing prostate cancer research in men of African descent

Dr. Tim Rebbeck (Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute), and Dr. Oseremen Aisuodione-Shadrach, (University of Abuja Teaching Hospital and the University of Abuja), describe a multi-center, International five year NCI funded project to link causes of prostate cancer to genetic transfer (published on January 31st 2019).

Cancer Research Training Travel Awards for LMIC Investigators

CRDF Global is accepting Letters of Intent (LOIs) from institutions and organizations for the Cancer Research Training Travel Awards for Low- and middle-income Country to facilitate and increase LMIC investigator participation in cancer research training opportunities. Funding for this initiative is provided by CRDF Global, utilizing funds provided by NCI’s Center for Global Health.
